Mrs. Agnes Nieland Dies Following Long Illness
Mrs. Agnes Nieland, 84, lifetime resident of the
Breda community, died at her home southwest of Breda about 11:40
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 1961. She had been in failing health for
12 years.
Requiem Mass was read at 10:00
a.m. November 29th at St. Bernard church by Rev. J.P. Hausman
and burial was in the St. Bernard cemetery.
Mrs. Nieland was a daughter of
Henry and Louise Werning Ahrling. She was born at Breda December
14, 1876 and spent her entire life on the same farm. Her marriage
to Henry J. Nieland took place at St. Bernard's church on February
13, 1900. She was a member of the parish and the Rosary Society.
Survivors are two sons, Leo and
Lawrence, two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Huegerich (Cecilia) and
Mary Nieland at home, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,
two sisters, Miss Gertrude Ahrling and Mrs. Henry Olberding.
She was preceded
in death by her husband, her parents and a son in infancy and another,
Anton, at age 16.
