Joseph Anthony Boes (1884-1959) was the eighth child
of Maria Anna Nieland and Gerhard Boes. On January 13, 1913 he
married Appolonia Barbara Walz (1890-1974) in Breda, Iowa. Joseph
and Appolonia had nine children, all born in Iowa.
