Carl Pappe Bakery Fire

Carl Arthur Pappe (1883-1939) was the son of Karl Pappe and nephew of the three immigrant brothers Richard Pappe Sr., Albert L. Pappe and John H. Pappe. He immigrated to America in 1900 and settled in Nebraska. Later he moved to New Mexico and opened a bakery.

Carl was known by many names throughout his life: Carl Arthur, Carl, Charlie, C.A., and Arthur.

STOVE EXPLODES

A coal oil stove, which exploded, ignited a one story frame dwelling at 3000 North Fourth street, shortly before noon Tuesday, while Owner was in preparation. The firemen, who answered the alarm, found that the fire already was out upon their arrival, so they returned and reported:

"No loss. C.A. Pappe, owner."
