The Kingfisher Free Press 60th Anniversary Edition,
Kingfisher Oklahoma, April 18, 1949
The Pappe Oil Company was formed in 1929 by three of Richard Pappe Sr's sons -- Richard, Arthur and Court Pappe Sr. (See also partnership.) The Oil Company operated a service station on Main Street in the north end of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Court operated the station and also had his home on the same property. Court also opened a "Tourist Court" along the east bank of the Kingfisher Creek. When the creek was rerouted years later the street by the motel was renamed "Court Street." George Pappe (1927-1996) was the son of Court Pappe Sr. (1902-1972).
