Art Pappe's To Observe Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Art Pappe will observe their golden wedding anniversary next Tuesday. No formal observance is being planned, however.

Mr. and Mrs. Pappe were united in marriage on July 28, 1909, in Kingfisher. Since then they have continued to reside either east of Kingfisher or in the city.

Mrs. Pappe, who before her marriage was Miss Violet Major, was born at Carnegie, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Major, who came in the early days to the country to the Altona community, and later resided on a farm north of town (now the Bob Gazin home).

Mr. Pappe is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pappe, who also were early settlers here. The father had the first bakery in Kingfisher.

The Pappes have three children, Mrs. Dale Altizer of Kingfisher, Charles of Oklahoma City and Max of Downey, Calif., and several grandchildren.
