El Reno Tribune, December 20, 1998 Albert Wesley 'Ab' Pappe Funeral services for Albert Wesley "Ab" Pappe were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in the United Methodist Church in Union City Rev. Perry Williams, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Union City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home. Mr. Pappe left this world to live with the Lord on Dec. 16, following a lengthy and suffering illness. He was born on the family farm west of Union City on March 25, 1933, and lived in that area his entire lifetime. AB was a retired farmer-rancher and in his early years was also engaged in carpentry. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Union City and had served on various committees of the church. He was also a member of Canadian County Mineral Association, serving in the past on this board. Mr. Pappe also served on the Union City Cemetery Board for over 40 years, having served as president of this association for a number of years. He also had served on the Union City School Board, was an honorary FFA chapter member and also participated in many other community and county activities. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Pappe. Ab is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha of the home; son, Michael Pappe of Union City; grandson, James Albert Pappe of Yukon; his mother, Letress Pappe of El Reno; brother, Raymond Pappe and wife, Shirley of Oklahoma City; cousins, Durward Pappe of Oklahoma City and Omabelle Akers of El Reno; also, several out-of-state relatives and numerous other relatives and friends. The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church of Union City Building Fund c/o P.O. Box 105, Union City, Okla. 73090.
