Dick Pappe 1949 - 2003

Dick Pappe, 75 years old, of Gold Hill, Oregon, died Monday, December 1st at his home. There will be a private service for family members.

Dick was born in Baldwin Park, California in 1928 to Maggie Vaughn and Arno Curt Pappe.

He married Joyce Anderson on November 11, 1949 in Yreka, California. He joined the Army in 1945. Dick was a very fine cook and baker in Alaska for an oil company for many years.

He was also a logger and cat skinner, then later a rock crusher operator until he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce, and four sons: Arno Curt of Truckee, Ca.; Ernest and Kevinlee, both of Gold Hill, Or.; and Shawn of Sparks, Nev. plus three daughters: Maranita Pettit of Lebanon, Or.; Catherine Crouse of Spokane, Wa. & Lorna Anderson of Beaverton, Or.

16 grandchildren: Michael, Bryan, Sam Jr., Chad, Sara, Andy, Kate, Heather, Josh, Denise, Alicia, Stephanie, Brittany, Jaricha, Jordan and Chase.

And 10 great grandchildren: Nicholas, Brandolin, Christopher, Mitchell, Chelsea, Anthony, Aaron, Taylor, Lindsey and Tanner.

Dick had a long, full life, was well-loved and will be missed.
