George Edward Pappe 1927-1996

George Pappe, 68, of Kingfisher died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kingfisher Church of Christ with Lloyd J. Unsell, minister, officiating.

Burial will be at Kingfisher Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

He was born June 27, 1927, in Kingfisher to Court and Mary Drake Pappe.

He lived in Kingfisher all his life except for a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1945.

He and Dawn Maynord were married on Oct. 21, 1944, in El Reno.

He worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department in the right-of-way division. He was a member of the Kingfisher Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn, of the home; two daughters, Donna Thomas of Kingfisher and Anita Hoskins of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sons, John and Charles Pappe, both of Kingfisher; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
