Bernard Steinkamp, son of Heinrich August Steinkamp abd Maria Christina Heisterkamp, was born on 5 March 1869 at Ramsdorf, Westphalia, Germany. He immigrated in 1889.

The children of Elizabeth Boes and Bernard Steinkamp all born at Iowa, were the following:

1) Frank, born 17 October 1894 at Iowa. He died on 8 February 1950 at age 55 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.
2) Caroline, born 24 August 1896 at Iowa. She died on 12 December 1987 at age 91.
3) Theodore, born 26 January 1898 at Iowa. He died on 6 June 1988 at Wall Lake, Sac, Iowa at age 90.
4) Julia Dorothy, born 27 June 1900 at Iowa. She died on 8 May 1995 at New Olm, Brown County, Minnesota at age 94.
5) Lawrence, born 31 August 1902 at Iowa. He died on 3 July 1995 at Wall Lake, Sac County, Iowa at age 92.
6) Ida, born 24 June 1907 at Iowa. She died on 24 January 1937 at age 29.
7) Thresita was born on 29 October 1908. She died in 1911 in Iowa.
8) Cornelia C.

Ben died on 23 June 1947 at age 78. He was buried at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, Breda, Carroll County, Iowa.
