The daughter of John Henry Nieland and Anna Berning (John Henry, John Henry, John Henry, Joannes Daniel, Joannes Bernardus, Johann Daniel Nieland, Berndt Nilandt, Earliest Nieland)

Margaret Nieland as born on 11 September 1881 at Sac County, Iowa. She married Antone Mueggenborg in 1903 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. She was also known as Maggie.

She appeared on the Federal census of 1910 at Canadian County, Oklahoma. Maggie (23) is enumerated on a farm in Rock Island Township with her husband, Antone (38) and their children, Albert (6), Mary (3) and Annie (1). They have been married 7 years and have 3 of 3 children living. Antone lists his birthplace as Germany, but the date of immigration is not clear. Annie was born in Oklahoma and the rest of the family was born in Iowa.

She appeared on the Federal census of 1920 at Canadian County, Oklahoma. Maggie (38) is enumerated on a farm in Rock Island Township in Federal census pages that are very hard to read. She is listed with her husband Anton (43) and their children Albert (15), Mary (13), Ann (11), Emma (9), Clements (6), William (3 11/12), and Clara (1 8/12). Anton is listed as a German immigrant, but the date of arrival and naturalization are not readable. Maggie, Albert and Mary list Iowa as their birthplace and the rest of the children list Oklahoma as their birthplace. They appear to own their farm.

She appeared on the Federal census of 1930 at Canadian County, Oklahoma. Maggie (48) is enumerated on a farm in Rock Island Township with her children Clem (16), William (14) and Clara (11). Maggie is a widow, born in Iowa and the children were born in Oklahoma. They own their farm and do not have a radio.

Maggie died on 5 October 1962 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma, at age 81. She was buried on 11 October 1962 at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.

 


Antone John Mueggenborg (1876-1922)

The husband of Margaret Nieland (1881-1962)

Antone John Mueggenborg, son of Wilhelm Josef Müggenborg and Maria Katherine Hoebing (Maria Christina Höbing), was born on 11 May 1876 at Weseke, Kreis Borken, Westphalia, Germany.

He immigrated on 24 May 1898 to United States. Anton is listed in the Ellis Island data as a German immigrant from "Borhen" who arrived at 22 years and single. He traveled on the ship Westerland from Antwerp, Belgium. His name is spelled Muggenborg on the records.

The children of Margaret Nieland and Antone Mueggenborg were the following:

1) Albert J, born 16 February 1904 at Iowa. He died on 15 November 1998 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma at age 94. He was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Canadian County, Oklahoma.
2) Mary Christine, born 30 May 1906 at Iowa. She died on 12 July 1940 at age 34.
3) Ann, born 15 February 1909 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. She died on 25 January 1999 at age 89. She was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Canadian County, Oklahoma.
4) Emma Angeline
5) Clements was born on 8 October 1913 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. He died on 27 January 1937 at age 23.
6) William Edward, born 5 January 1916 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. He died on 31 August 1986 at Okarche, Kingfisher, Oklahoma at age 70. He was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Canadian County, Oklahoma.
7) Clara Rose, born 7 June 1918 at Okarche, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. She died on 25 May 1987 at Kingfisher, Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Canadian County, Oklahoma.

Antone died on 12 January 1922 at Okarche, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, at age 45. He is buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Okarche, Canadian County, Oklahoma.
