The son of Maria Angela Nieland and John H. Hoebing (Maria Angela Nieland, John Henry, John Henry, Joannes Daniel, Joannes Bernardus, Johann Daniel Nieland, Berndt Nilandt, Earliest Nieland)

Zeno was born on 29 August 1877 in Sac County, Iowa. He and three siblings were stricken in the diphtheria epidemic. For additional information, see the sketch of Caroline Hoebing.

Zeno died on 27 July 1882 at Sac County, Iowa, at age 4. He was buried at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, Breda, Carroll County, Iowa.
