Father
Don Wolf is the son of Rose Ann Rother and Donald Wolf, grandson
of Augusta Mueggenborg, great grandson of Mary Dorothy (Dora) Boes
and great, great grandson of Mary Anna Nieland.
He was born in Oklahoma City and was raised on a farm. He graduated
from Western Heights high school in 1973 and went to Oklahoma State
University to study Aeronautical Engineering. After two years of
study he responded to a call to the priesthood and went to St. Meinrad
seminary in 1975. After receiving a Master's of Divinity degree
he was ordained in 1981 and has served a variety of parishes in
Western Oklahoma. His ministry has been principally among the Spanish
speaking.
He has been vicar for Hispanic Ministry of the
Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, Chairman of the Board of Catholic
Charities, a member of the Vocations Board and a member of the Priest's
Council. In 1996 he was elected President of the National Federation
of Priests' Councils and served in that position at the national
office in Chicago from 1997 to 2000. In 2003 he earned a Doctor
of Ministry degree in Preaching from Seabury-Western School of Theology.
His ministry now encompasses his parish, The Assumption of the Blessed
Virgin Catholic Church in Duncan, Oklahoma, and four missions in
Southern Oklahoma.
