Sister Anita Poeppe, FSPA (Sister Mary Rosina Poeppe)

Sister Anita Poeppe, born in Mount Carmel, Iowa, was the daughter of Julia Florina Nieland and Albert John Poeppe, and granddaughter of John Henry Nieland and Anna Berning. She entered St. Rose Convent on Aug. 27, 1948 and made her final profession of vows in 1957. She was in the teaching profession and served for 43 years in elementary parochial schools in Idaho, Iowa and Wisconsin. She taught at Holy Trinity School in La Crosse from 1955 to 1956 and was elementary principal at Marquette Elementary Schools in Houghton and St. Paul, Iowa, from 1983 until March 1995
