MAPLETON - Mass of the Christian burial for Agnes
Catherine Reising was celebrated Monday July 3, 1989, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Mapleton. Mrs. Reising, 79, formerly of the Carroll
area, died Saturday, July 1, at the Willow Dale Nursing Home in
Battle Creek.
The Rev. John Brennan celebrated the mass. Burial
was to St. Mary's Cemetery in Mapleton.
Pallbearers were Joe Grote, Leonard Grote, Tony Jacoby,
Elmer Grote, Leo Lambert and Richard Janning.
Mrs. Reising was born Oct. 14, 1909, at Carroll, the
daughter of John and Louise (Augustine) Janning. She grew up in
the Carroll and Maple River area.
On Dec. 29, 1931, she married Gregory W. Reising at
Mount Carmel. They farmed at Breda, Maple River and Wall Lake before
making their home in Mapleton in 1950.
Survivors include six sons: Elmer of Springfield,
Ore; Kenneth of Junction City, Ore.; Eugene of Los Angeles, Calif.;
Leonard of Onawa, and Raymond and Melvin of Mapleton; two brothers,
Gerhard Janning of Carroll and Norbert Janning of Lidderdale; and
11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband
in 1981; one daughter, three sons, three sisters and one brother.
