Mass of the Christian burial for Agnes Tena "Aggie" Eischeid of Carroll was held Monday, September 30, 2002 at Sacred Heart Church in Manning.

Mrs. Eischeid, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital.

Rev. James McAlpin officiated and burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.

Lector was Greg Schreck. Eucharistic minister was Margaret Frees. Mass servers were Jason Hugeback and Kevin Arp. Gift bearers were Connie Segebart, Karla Eischeid and Roxanne Aden.

Casket bearers were Kenneth Eischeid, Larry Eischeid, Rusty Tigges, Brian Eischeid, Donald Eischeid, Randy Tigges, Robbie Tigges and Bradley Eischeid.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

A daughter of Ferdinand and Mary (Nieland) Steinkamp, she was born March 19, 1916, near Breda in Carroll County. She attended school at St. Bernard's School in Breda.

She was united in marriage to Hilbert "Hib" Eischeid on October 1, 1940, at St. Bernard's Church in Breda.

The family lived near Halbur for two years before moving to a farm north of Manning. They later purchased a farm in the same area. They retired in 1973 and moved into Halbur for two years before moving to their home in Manning.

Mrs. Eischeid was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and an honorary member of the Ladies Guild. She also belonged to the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, and the Manning Regional Healthcare Center Auxiliary.

She liked working, including helping her husband with farm work, sewing for her family and others, cooking, baking, and volunteering. She was a 4-H leader, judged sewing at the county fair, worked with the Carroll County Extension and volunteered at New Hope Village. She also baked and served cookies for CCD summer school.

Following her husband's death Oct. 4, 1998, she continued to live in their home and do sewing for others, as well as keeping involved in her church.

Mrs. Eischeid suffered a stroke Aug. 25, 2002, and was hospitalized in Carroll until she died.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Roger and Diane Eischeid of Manning, Diane and Virgil Tigges of Carroll and Gary and Marie Eischeid of Manning; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many in laws, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hilbert; three sisters, Elizabeth Thobe, Mary Kohorst and Theresa Kramer; five brothers, Fred Steinkamp, Walter Steinkamp, Anthony Steinkamp, Joe Steinkamp and Leonard Steinkamp.
