Albert Boes  1910-2002

Mass of the Christian burial for Albert Boes on Breda will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda.

Mr. Boes, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

The Rev. James Smith will preside at the Mass. Lector will be April Rotert. Gift bearers will be Carol Tiefenthaler and Linda Weyers. Eucharistic minister will be Dale Tiefenthaler.

Casket bearers will be Russell Boes, Bruce Boes, Bret Weyers, David Tiefenthaler, Nick Milewski and Jeff Milewski. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

A son of Theodore and Anna (Schulte) Boes, he was born April 8, 1910, at Breda, Attended St. Bernard School there and spent his life in the community.

He and Hendrina Seuntjens were married Jan. 30, 1934, at St. Mary Church in Danbury.

The Boeses farmed west of Breda until 1973, then moved into town. They wintered in southern Texas for 26 years.

Mr. Boes operated Albert Boes Construction Co., building Stormor grain equipment until 1987.

He was president of Mount Carmel Insurance Co. for 14 years and was a longtime president of the Catholic Order of Foresters Northwest District. Mr. Boes was a member of St. Bernard Parish and enjoyed playing card and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Hendrina, of Breda; four children and their spouses: Leon and Margie Boes of Breda, Verna and Rollin Tiefenthaler of Carroll, Lyle and Fran Boes of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Carleen and Larry Milewski of Humboldt; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Boes, and his wife, Alice, of Breda; two sisters; Rose Ludwig of Carroll and Mathilda Thelen of Carroll; and two sisters-in-law; Margaret Boes of Carroll and Wilma Boes of Breda.

Mr. Boes was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Tony, Clemens, Edmund, Clarence and Raymond Boes; a sister, Philomena Thelen; and a granddaughter, Julie Thiefenthaler.
