Alois John Vonnahme  1910-1976

MT. CARMEL — Mass of the resurrection for Alois J. Vonnahme, 65, of Mt. Carmel, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Paul E. Roder. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Twit Funeral Home, Carroll. Rosary recitations are scheduled for 8 (parish) and 8:45 p.m. Thursday and 3 and 8:45 p.m. Friday There will be a scriptural prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Vonnahme, a retired farmer, died of emphysema at 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at Loring Hospital, Sac City. He had been ill for several years.

A son of Joseph and Mary Becker Vonnahme, he was born at Mt. Carmel Aug. 2, 1910. He received his education here and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. His marriage to Elinor Anna Nieland took place Feb. 12, 1935 at St. Bernard's Church, Breda. After living 2 1/2 miles southwest of Mt. Carmel for ten years and 2 1/2 miles south of Breda for 23 years they have lived in Mt. Carmel for the last eight years.

Surviving with his wife are four children, Mrs. Raymond (Coleen) Yuhasz of Canberra, Australia, Marvin of Campbellsburg, Ind., Lee of Westside and Mrs. Richard H. (Del Rae) Peterson of Scranton; eight grandchildren; a brother, Frank Vonnahme of Breda; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Wuebker of Mt. Carmel and Mrs. Rose Eilers of Milford.

Mr. Vonnahme was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a sister and two brothers.
