The Carroll Times Herald, March 1974 Apollonia Boes, 84, of Lake View, passed away on Thursday, March 7, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake. Funeral Mass was held Saturday morning, March 9, at 11:000 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wall Lake, with Fr. Edmond Adams officiating. Internment was made in St. Bernard Cemetery, Breda. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Marvin Ziegmann, Daryl Boes, Robert Ferguson, Glenn Boes, Kenneth Trammel and James Eischeid. Mrs. Boes was born February 9, 1890 at Breda, Iowa, the daughter of Sabastian and Anna Keller Walz. She spent most of her life in the Breda community. In 1966 she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Ziegmann, until going to live at Twilight Acres in 1970. She is survived by six daughters: Edna, Mrs. Arnold Ziegmann, Lake View; Ermina, Mrs. Wilburn Trammel, Des Moines; Mrs. Johanna Greene, Des Moines; Alvina, Mrs. Stanley Eischeid, Bayard; Hilda, Mrs. Edwin Buelt, Muscatine; and Annabelle Boes, Des Moines; three sons: Cyril Boes, Fantanelle; Vincent Boes, Richland Center, Wisconsin; and Rufus Boes, Carroll; 48 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and two sons in infancy.
