Arnold Ludwig, 69, of Carroll, a retired farmer, died
at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital
where he had been a patient for eight days. He had been in failing
health for some time.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at
10 a.m. Monday, July 30, at St. Lawrence Church with the Rev. Lawrence
McCarty, pastor, officiating, Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery
in Lidderdale. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral home after
2 p.m. Sunday. Rosaries will be recited at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are his wife, three sons: Dean, Lake City,
Eldon, Lake City and James, Mt. Carmel: four daughters: Mrs. James
(Louann) Klocke, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Stephen (Karen) Goins, Yetter;
Mrs. Robert (Judy) Strunk, Carroll, and Mrs. Mark (Mary Jo) Bauer,
Wathena, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; two brothers: Lawrence, Odebolt
and Herbert, Mt. Carmel and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Amelia) Sanders,
Carroll, He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Dorene
and three brothers.
Mr. Ludwig was born May 6, 1910 at Mt. Carmel, a son
of Henry and Mary Naberhaus Ludwig. He lived in the Mt. Carmel area
during his younger life. He was married April 19, 1938 to Rose Boes.
They lived on a farm near Lake City until 1971 when he retired and
they moved to a home at 219 West 11th Street in Carroll. He was
a member of St. Lawrence Parish.
