Great Bend (Kansas) Tribune, July 18, 2008
KINGFISHER, Okla. — Brad Lee Julian, 29, of Kingfisher, passed away July 12 at Kingfisher Regional Hospital after an extended illness. Brad was born June 23, 1979, to Jeff and Sue Julian. He spent his childhood in Great Bend and Woodward, Okla., where he completed high school, graduating in 1997. He was the first of two children born to the Julians and was a special big brother to his sister Carry. He enjoyed tennis and boating throughout his teen years. After completing high school, Brad attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in the College of Engineering. After his 2002 graduation he secured a position with Exxon Mobil Corporation.
While visiting his sister, Brad was introduced to Sarah Post and after a short courtship, Brad and Sarah were united in marriage on June 29, 2004. After their wedding, they moved to Houston. They loved living there. It was the beginning foundation of their marriage, their first home and great friends and neighbors.
Eager to embrace life together, they both began new jobs, Sarah as a classroom teacher and Brad working in the oil-production business. About a year and a half into their marriage, it was discovered that Brad was suffering from heart disease. This did not stop him from work, many acts of kindness and his loving devotion to his family.
As things progressed with this illness, Brad and Sarah moved back to Oklahoma to be close to family and friends for much-needed support. On Dec. 30, 2007, they were blessed with an addition to their small family. Elizabeth Marie was the light of her Daddy’s life. Brad knew his time was at hand. He expressed that if he had it all to do over again, he wouldn’t change a thing. He had grown in his faith as his disease progressed. Even though his body was waning his spiritual health was very well.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah, along with their infant daughter, Elizabeth, of the home; his parents, of Woodward, Okla.; a sister, Carry Treat and her husband Sam of Tulsa, Okla.; his grandmother, Natha Julian of Great Bend; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Paula Post of Kingfisher, Okla.; and a sister-in-law, Stacy Winkler and her husband Jake of Oklahoma City, Okla. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kay Krauter, and his grandfather, Manford Julian.
Service was held Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Kingfisher, with Dr. James Swain officiating. Interment was at Kingfisher Cemetery.
