Sr. M. Anthusa Nieland, 66, died at 5 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Villa St. Joseph, La Crosse, Wis., after several months' illness. She was a native of Breda.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Rose Convent, La Crosse, with burial there. The rosary will be recited Wednesday evening.

Sr. Anthusa, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nieland, was born March 10, 1906, at Breda. She entered the convent in June, 1925. She taught at St. Angela Academy in Carroll for a number of years, as well as other points in Iowa and Wisconsin. She was stationed at St. Michael Home, in La Crosse for many years until becoming ill about five months ago.

Surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Albert (Julia) Poeppe, Emmetsburg; Norbert Nieland, Breda; Arnold Nieland, Auburn, Richard Nieland, Fonda; Mrs. Marion (Genevieve) Whitcher, West Union; Mrs. Alolis (Elinore) Vonnahme and Mrs. Bill (Marie) Reineke, Carroll. Another sister died in infancy.
