of the Christian burial for Christopher Lappe of Minooka [Illinois]
will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church
in Carroll.
Mr. Lappe, 35, formerly of Carroll, died Monday, Oct.
3, 2005, of injuries suffered in a motor-vehicle crash near Lapeer,
Mich.
The Rev. James McCormick will preside at the Mass.
Lector will be Amy Stork. Gift bearers will be Bailey Vonnahme,
Morgan Lappe, Jacob Lappe and Payton Lappe. Servers will be Curtis
and Matt Stork. Eucharistic ministers will be Bill and Pat Stork.
Casket bearers will be Cory Lappe, Brian Lappe, Jeff
Lappe, Chris Hallinan, Dion Hamer and Glen Erps. The International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will have an honor guard.
Visitation starts at 5 p.m. and a Christian wake service
will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll.
Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
A son of Fred and Ruth (Stork) Lappe, he was born
May 22, 1970, at Carroll, attended St. Lawrence Elementary School
and graduated from Carroll High School in 1988.
He and Tracie Hallinan were married Sept.17, 1994,
at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. They moved to Minooka
five years ago.
Mr. Lappe completed the Missouri Valley Line Construction
Apprenticeship Program at Indianola and became a journeyman lineman.
He worked for IBEW Local 55 of Des Moines and most recently was
general foreman for MJ Electric Co. of Iron Mountain, Mich., on
a transmission project in Lapeer. He was a member of the IBEW and
enjoyed spending time on the family farm, hunting, fishing and riding
his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Tracie Hallinan, of Minooka;
three children: Breanna, Colby, and Alexa, all at home; his parents,
Fred and Ruth Lappe, of Auburn; three brothers: Jeff Lappe and his
wife, Tina, of Fortuna, Calif., Brian Lappe and his wife, Amanda,
of Channahon, Ill., and Cory Lappe of Devils Lake, N.D.; his father
and mother-in-law, Merle and Barbara Hallinan, of Carroll; his grandparents:
Art Lappe of Templeton and Mary Ann Stork of Carroll; a brother-in-law,
Chris Hallinan, of Carroll; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lappe was preceded in death by his grandparents:
Matt Stork and Barbara Lappe.
