David John Mueggenborg 1950-2002 The Kingfisher Times and Free Press, Sunday, June 2, 2002 David John Mueggenborg, 52, and wife, Jean Elizabeth Mueggenborg, 51, of Okarche died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Arkansas River at the I-40 Bridge in Muskogee County. David was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Okarche to Vince and Alta M. (Gilles) Mueggenborg. He lived in the Okarche and Kingfisher area his entire life. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1968 and entered the Air National Guard for six years. He was self-employed as a farmer and construction worker for 30 years. He married Jean Hendrix on May 3, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a wonderful father and a loving grandfather. He was willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Okarche, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. Jean Elizabeth (Hendrix) Mueggenborg was born to Lt. Col. Samuel B. and Ina Mae (Noel) Hendrix Jr. on Sept. 26, 1950, at Ft. Ord, Monterey, Calif. She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1969 and attended OSU. Upon her return from Wichita, Kan., she entered the real estate business with her father. She worked for the Community National Bank in Okarche for many years. For the last two and a half years, she worked for Sprint in Oklahoma City. They are survived by their children and grandchildren: one son, John David Mueggenborg of Okarche; two daughters, Vaynna Borelli and husband Greg, and their children, Grant, Trey, and Tyler of Kingfisher, and Kelle Witt and husband Wade, and their daughter, Ashtin of Kingfisher. Also surviving is David's mother, Mrs. Alta (Gilles) Mueggenborg of Okarche; and their brothers and sisters, Carol Murray and son, James Murray of Okarche, Dr. Samuel B. and wife, Dr. Joan Hendrix III of Norman, Raymond and wife, Marilou Mueggenborg, Karl and wife, Karla Mueggenborg, Andy and wife, Joan Mueggenborg, all of Okarche, Jerry and wife, Annisa Mueggenborg of Surrey Hills, Louise Hubbard and husband Wiley, Edna Edwards of Okarche, Carol Schroeder and husband, Buddy of Loyal, Judy Grellner and husband, Jim of Kingfisher, Arlene Schroeder and husband, Doug of Houston, Texas, Faye Mueggenborg of Piedmont and numerous nieces and nephews. They are preceded in death by David's father, Vince Mueggenborg, his brother, Joe F. Mueggenborg, Jean's parents, grandparents and her uncle, Elmer Bomhoff. A Wake was held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with the Rev. Edward Weisenburger officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research.
