CARROLL— Dean Feld, 61, of rural Carroll, died of an apparent heart condition Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be the Rev. James McCormick.

The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 a.m. Friday to lie in state until the time of the funeral Mass.

Lector will be Lynn Boes. Gift bearers will be Mr. Feld's 11 grandchildren. Mass servers will be Shelby Klocke, Adam Soyer and Luke Quandt. Eucharistic ministers will be Jan Handlos, Kris Quandt, Judy Feld and Norb Muhlbauer.

Casket bearers will be Mark Soyer, Loren Danner, Marv Danner, Gary Handlos, Dale Schon and Daryl Quandt. Honorary casket bearers will be Dave Staiert, Roger Pudenz, Roger Kohorst, Orville Ludwig, Larry Feld and Bill Schumacher.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Dedham American Legion.

Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 p.m. Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. by the Carroll Knights of Columbus, and there will be a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. by St. Mary Parish.

He was born Nov. 10, 1945, at Carroll, a son of Charles W. and Isabelle (Neppel) Feld. He spent his lifetime in the Carroll community and attended St. Lawrence School and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1963.

He served in the Fort Dodge Unit of the Iowa Air National Guard from August 1965 to August 1971.

On July 6, 1968, he was married to Lynette Boes at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel with the Rev. Dale Koster officiating. The couple made their home in Carroll until 1970 when they moved to their acreage southeast of Carroll.

Mr. Feld operated a flooring installation business and most recently operated a grain and livestock farming operation.

He was a member of St. Mary Parish at Willey, Knights of Columbus, and Dedham American Legion. Mr. Feld enjoyed his family, playing cards, livestock sales, watching football on television, fishing and wrestling.

Survivors include his wife, Lynette Feld of Carroll; children, Brad Feld and his wife Angie of Carroll, Brenda Berger and her husband Bob of Mount Carmel, Jenny Freeman and her husband Brad of Grimes, Sara Bur-bridge and her husband Mark of Council Bluffs, Mindy Woolsey and her husband James of Carroll, Kevin Feld and his special friend Shellene Sparks of Carroll, and Jackie Feld of Carroll; grandchildren, Dillon Feld, Ashley Feld, Taylor Berger, Jessica Berger, Haley Berger, Joey Freeman, B.J. Freeman, Zachary Freeman, Kelsey Brant, Karley Burbridge and Kaleb Burbridge; his mother, Isabelle Feld of Carroll; brothers, Larry Feld and his wife Judy of Carroll, Mark Feld of Carroll, and Steve Feld and his wife Kris of Milford, Iowa; sisters, Marlou Muhlbauer and husband Norb of Omaha, Neb., Maxine Zielinski and her husband Ted of Omaha, Neb., Deanna Oxenford and her husband Denny of Omaha, Neb., Linda Schmitz and her husband Larry of Omaha, Neb., Beverly Robertson of Omaha, Neb., and Jane Schultes and her husband Randy of Carroll; and his father- and mother-in-law, Cyril and Elsie Boes of Fontanelle. Mr. Feld was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Feld; a niece, Tracy Schmitz; a nephew, Kevin Muhlbauer; and an uncle, Conrad Feld.
