Okarche Chieftain, Thursday, May 7, 1959 Ed B. Hoebing Former Mayor of Okarche Dies Edward B. Hoebing, retired Okarche farmer, died Tuesday in the Okarche Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born August 29, 1890 in Breda, IA, and came to Canadian County in 1903. He farmed southwest of Okarche until 1945 when he retired. Mr. Hoebing was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche, of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society, and served a term as Mayor of Okarche. Survivors include his wife, Rose, of the home, two daughters, Miss Rachel Hoebing of Okarche and Mrs. John Huck, Lewisville, TX; three sons, Eugene of TX, Ancil of Okarche Route 2 and Victor, Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren; a brother, George, of Chickasha, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Bosold, Early, IA. Rosary was recited at 8pm Thursday in the Hoebing
home. Funeral services were at 9 am Friday in Holy Trinity church
with the Rev. Edmund Von Elm, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery under direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
