Helen Marie Becker (Wolterman) 1926-2004 Carroll Daily Times Herald, May 2004 Mass of the Christian burial for Helen M. Wolterman of Carroll will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. Mrs. Wolterman, 77, died Tuesday, May 18, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. The Rev. James McCormick will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Bert Madden. Gift bearers will be Samantha Madden, Sean Culligan and Maria Wolterman. Server will be Amanda Culligan. Eucharistic ministers will be Gary Becker, Lynn Becker and Allen Becker. Pianist will be Daniel Loeschen. The casket will be moved to the church at 1 p.m. Casket bearers will be Daniel Loeschen, Tom Wolterman, Brian Wolterman, Jeremy Mason, Bert Madden Iv and Shaun Haulk. Honorary casket bearers will be Ashley Fulten, Christina Haulk, Michael Wolterman, Elizabeth Loeschen, Jason Fry, Danny Fry Jr., Megan Wolterman, Sarah Culligan, Michael Peter Wolterman, Courtney Wolterman, Zachary Wolterman, Chelsey Wolterman, Chad Fry, Ryan Fry and Cole Fry. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. A daughter of William S. and Amelia (Reising) Becker, she was born Sept. 3, 1926, at Breda and attended St. Bernard Catholic School. She and Wilbur Wolterman were married April 20, 1948, at St. Bernard Church in Breda. The couple farmed in the Breda community and moved to Carroll in 1953. Mrs. Wolterman was a homemaker and had been employed at the Ocoma Foods Co., the Perry nursing home and the Carroll Manor nursing home. The Woltermans celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1998. Mrs. Wolterman was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and crocheting. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Wolterman, of Carroll, 11 children: Marge Wolterman of Carroll, James Wolterman of Glidden, Dale "Wally" Wolterman and his wife, Tina, of Carroll, Gary Wolterman and his wife, Lisa, of Lake City, Debra Loeschen and her husband, David, of Denison, Cindi Cregeen and her husband, Kevin of Creston, John Wolterman and his wife, Dee, of Carroll, Pat Madden and her husband, Bert, of Carroll, Linda Culligan and her husband, Mike, of Carroll, Larry Wolterman and his wife, Marilou of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, and Mike Wolterman of Fort Carson, Colo.; 24 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; eight brothers; Arthur Becker and his wife, Dorothy, of Dunlap. William G. Becker and his wife, Mary Lou, of Carroll, John Becker and his wife, Marna, of Afton, Zenas Becker and his wife, Loa, of Carroll, Jerome Becker of Glidden, Allen Becker of Perry, Gary Becker and his wife, Maureen, of Perry and Gene Becker and his wife, Kaye, of Pomeroy; two sisters Clarita Roth of Spencer and Phyllis Danner and her husband, Verlin, of Glidden; and two sisters-in-law: Joanne Becker of Carroll and Eileen Becker of Des Moines. Mrs. Wolterman was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons: Jerry and Christopher Wolterman; a son-in-law, Danny Fry; a sister, Jovina Becker; two brothers; Robert and Michael Becker; three sisters-in-law; Joan Becker, Joanne Becker and Phyllis Becker; and a brother-in-law, Richard Roth.
