BREDA—Henry Pick, 79, a retired farmer, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 24, at his home three and a quarter miles West of Breda. He had been in failing health for the past six weeks.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at St. Bernard church in Breda with the Revs. Tony Pick and Richard Birdsall as celebrants. Herb Schulte will be lector; two granddaughters, Vickie and Susan Boeckman, gift bearers and Tim, Chris and Scott Koster, mass-servers.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Norman Halbur, Denny Kluver, Donald Koster, Eugene Obmann, Tony Rosener and Clair Snyder.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda after 2 p.m. Monday. Rosaries will be recited at 3 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Monday and a scriptural; prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday by the parish.
Mr. Pick is survived by his wife, Hilaria, Breda; two daughters: Mrs. Flay (Ruth) Boeckman, Wall Lake, and Mrs. James. (Arlene) Fisher, Carter Lake, Iowa; three grandchildren: Vickie and Susan Boeckman and Mark Fisher; a sister, Mrs. Helen Snyder, Breda, and two sisters-in-law: Mildred Pick, Breda, and Loretta Pick, Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Joe and Tony Pick.
Mr. Pick was born November 27, 1903, at Arcadia, a son of Chris and Theresia Meinen Pick. When he was a young child the family moved to the present farm, three and a quarter miles west of Breda. On May 26, 1936, he was married to Hilaria Schulte at St. Bernard church with the Rev. Schleyer officiating. He received his education in rural schools near his home. He was a member of St. Bernard church.
