Hilaria M. Pick, 92, of Breda died
Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at
10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at St. Bernard Church in Breda
with the Rev. James McAlpin officiating. Concelebrant will be the
Rev. Anthony Pick.
Lector will be Ralph Schulte. Gift bearers will be
Jeff Wheeler and Stacy Thiel. Mass servers will be Matt and Brian
Koster, Eucharistic ministers will be Mary Lou Ahrens and Leon Schulte.
Casket bearers will be Vicki Thiel, Susan Wheeler,
Mark Fisher, Matt Thiel, Tom Thiel and Robert Wheeler.
Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery in Breda.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda
after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. by St.
Bernard Ladies Guild and there will be a Christian wake service
at 7:30 p.m. by St. Bernard Parish.
She was born Nov. 8, 1913 at Wall Lake, a daughter
of Leo and Catherine (Boes) Schulte. She spent her lifetime in the
Wall Lake and Breda Communities and attended St. Bernard School.
On May 26, 1936, she was married to Henry Pick at
St. Bernard Church in Breda with the Rev. Schleyer officiating.
The couple farmed three miles west of Breda and following her husband's
death in 1983, she moved to her home in Breda.
She entered the nursing home in January 2003. She
was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Parish Ladies Guild. Mrs.
Pick enjoyed her family, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Boeckman and
her husband Ray of Wall Lake, and Arlene Fisher of Carter Lake;
grandchildren: Vicki Thiel and her husband Kirk of Omaha, Neb.,
Susan Wheeler and her husband Don of Elkhorn, Neb., and Mark Fisher
of Carter Lake; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Schulte
of Wall Lake, and Herb Schulte and his wife Marlys of Des Moines;
and a sister-in-law, Joan Schulte of Carroll.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband
in April 1983; and brothers, Urban, Edgar and Donald Schulte.
