BREDA — Requiem mass for Jacob Wittry, 72, of Breda, was read at 9:30 Monday morning in St. Bernard Church here by the Rev. John C. Doherty. Also in the sanctuary were the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Zeno J. Reising, V.F. of Alton and the Rev. O. W. Koester, Mt. Carmel.

Active pallbearers were Clem Polking, Joe Henrichs, Art Ricke, Julius Bohnenkamp, Alvin Witwer and Peter Oswald. Serving as honorary pallbearers were John Maneman, L.C. Buxton, Art Derner, Franz Rutten, Joe Mueggenborg and Dr. T.A. Dermody. Interment was in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, with Fr. Koester officiating. Military honors were given by the Fred F. and Norman J. Bruning Post No. 607, American Legion, of Breda. Arrangements were in charge of the Twit Funeral Home of Carroll.

Mr. Wittry, an insurance agent here for 30 years before his retirement, died Aug. 19 at St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll.
