LaVerdos Frank Reis, age 81, of Auburn, Iowa, died
Monday, May 16 2005, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at
10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 18, 2005 at St. Mary Church in Auburn.
The Celebrant will be Father Lawrence McCarty.
Lector will be Tricia Langel. Gift bearers will be
Deb Ludwig, Terry Reis and Dan Reis. Mass Servers will be Bobby
and Colton Theulen. Soloist will be Vickie Reis. Eucharistic Ministers
will be Pam Deal, Felix Bluml, and Harry Bluml.
Honorary Pallbearers will be granddaughters, Robin
Wood, Rachel Brockman, Ronda Bohm, Stacey Benson, Sara Crabbs, Leslie
Reis, Sonya Wilt, and Danielle Ludwig.
Casket Bearers will be grandsons, Matt Kuker, John
Kuker, Ben Langel, Bryson Langel, Scott Reis and Jason Ludwig. Burial
will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Auburn.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll
after 2:30 P.M. Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 3 P.M. Wednesday.
There will be a Christian wake service at 8 P.M. Wednesday by the
parish.
Mr. Reis was born on September 6, 1923, at Breda,
Iowa, a son of Joseph J. and Caroline (Steinkamp) Reis. He spent
most of his lifetime in the Breda and Auburn communities and attended
St. Bernard School.
On March 5, 1946, he was married to Luella Bluml at
Holy Family Church in Lidderdale, Iowa, with Father Laurence Schoeppner
officiating. The couple farmed in Sac and Carroll counties and in
1986 moved to their home in Auburn. Mr. Reis was employed by the
Sac County Conservation Board as the Grant Park Attendant for 15
years. He was a member of St. Mary Parish at Auburn.
He is survived by his wife, Luella Reis of Auburn,
children Pam Deal and her husband James of Anoka, Minn., Terry Reis
and his wife Joy of Lake View, Tricia Langel and her husband Gene
of Tempelton, Dan Reis and his wife Vickie of Westside, and Deb
Ludwig and her husband Meryl of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 17 great
grandchildren; brother Delmar Reis of Odebolt; sisters, Janice Husenga
of Carroll, Illa Mae Riesberg of Halbur, and Karen Reis of Des Moines;
sister-in-law, Helen Reis of Coon Rapids; and brother-in-law, Louis
Williams of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons
Rick Reis and John Reis; brothers Unis Reis, Myron Reis, and Joseph
Reis, Jr.; and sisters, Lorraine Killeen, Darnella Loneman, and
Betty Williams.
