The Carroll Times Herald, January 1971 BREDA - Leo Schulte, 86, died at his home here at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, after being in failing health for six months. Mr. Schulte was a lifelong resident of this community. A son of Clem and Elizabeth Schulte, he was born here Dec. 4, 1884. His marriage to Catherine Boes took place at St. Bernard's Church on Oct. 4, 1910, and they established their home on a farm sic and one half miles northwest of Breda. Following his retirement in 1943 they continued to live on the farm until moving into Breda in 1950. Surviving are his wife; five children, Edgar, Mrs. Henry (Hilaria) Pick and Urban of Breda; Ronald of Westside and Herbert of Des Moines; also 31 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Edward, of Carroll; and three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Sophia) Koster, Mrs. Sarah Wegman and Mrs. Susan Steinkamp, all of Breda. Mr. Schulte was preceded in death by a son, Donald; a brother and four sisters. |
