Mass of the Christian burial for Marie T. Reineke of Breda will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 1999, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.Mrs. Reineke, 78, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Carroll Manor nursing home.

The Rev. Jim McCormick will preside at the Mass. Gift bearers will be Dolora Brinks and Dorothy Geister. Lector will be Russ Reineke.

Casket bearers will be Richard Reineke, Ron Reineke, Jerry Nieland, Don Nieland and Allen Nieland.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Friends called and a rosary was prayed this afternoon at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. There will be a vigil service at 7 tonight at the funeral home.

A daughter of Frank and Mary (Naberhaus) Nieland, she was born March 23, 1921, at Breda and educated there at St. Bernard School.

She and Carl Wittry were married Dec. 26, 1942. He was killed May 1, 1945, at the Battle of Okinawa during World War II.

She and William "Bill" Reineke were married Feb. 9, 1949, at St. Bernard Church in Breda with the Rev. Schleyer officiating.

Mrs. Reineke was a homemaker and for many years tended the altar and sacristy at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll, where she was a member and choir participant. She was also a member of Christian Mothers in Breda and Carroll.

Survivors include her husband, Bill of Carroll; two brothers: Norbert Nieland of Carroll and Arnold Nieland and his wife, Germaine, of Auburn; two sisters: Elinor Nees of Carroll and Genevieve Lammers and her husband, Herman, of West Union; and a sister-in-law, Marie Nieland of Storm Lake.

Mrs. Reineke was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carl; three sisters: Sister M. Anthusa, Julia Poeppe and one in infancy; a brother, Richard Nieland; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Nieland; and three brothers-in-law: Alois Vonnahme, George Nees and Marion Whitcher.
