Mary Agnes Nieland 1912-2003

Mary
Nieland, age 90, of rural Breda, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at
her residence of an apparent heart condition.
Mass of the Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, at St.
Bernard Church in Breda. The Celebrant will be Father James Smith.
Lector will be Eugene Nieland.
Gift bearers will be Jane Schettler and Marita Bruning. Mass servers
will be Christopher Nieland, Eric Bruning and Michelle Nieland.
Eucharistic minister will be Dale Mueggenberg.
Casket bearers will be Richard
Huegerich, Melvin Nieland, Norman Nieland, Richard Mueggenberg,
Alvin Mueggenberg and Elmer Grote.
Burial will be at St. Bernard
Cemetery in Breda.
Friends may call at the Sharp
Funeral Home in Breda after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will
be recited at 3 p.m. Wednesday by St. Bernard Ladies Guild. There
will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Parish.
Mary Nieland was born in
July 21, 1912, at Arcadia, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Agnes
(Ahrling) Nieland. She spent her lifetime on the family farm southwest
of Breda and attended country schools and St. Bernard Schools. She
was a homemaker and cared for her parents for many years. She was
a member of St. Bernard Parish and Parish Ladies Guild. She enjoyed
fishing, gardening and her pet cats.
She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Nieland
and his wife, Helen, of Breda; brother-in-law Lawrence Huegerich
of Breda and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her parents; brothers, Anton and Leo Nieland; a brother, Joseph
Nieland, in infancy; and a sister, Cecilia Huegerich.
