Mary Ann GrabnerCARROLLMass of the Christian burial for Mary Ann Stork of Carroll will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.

Mrs. Stork, 86, died Sunday, May 6, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

The Rev. Timothy Schott will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Mrs. Stork's granddaughter, Laura Stork. Christian symbols will be placed by daughters: Phyllis Davis, Ruth Lappe, Susan Benedict, Patricia Stork, Margaret Gross, Mary Eickman, Michele Stork and Sandra Hackerson. Gift bearers will be daughters-in-law: LuJean Stork, Mary Lou Stork, Marsha Stork, Mary Jean Stork, Pat Stork, Carol Stork, Teri Stork, Michele Stork and Amy Stork. Servers will be grandsons: Curtis, Matt and Collin Stork. Eucharistic ministers will be Bill and Pat Stork and Sister Mary Myron Stork.

Casket bearers will be sons: Alan Stork, Robert Stork, Donald Stork, Thomas Stork, William Stork, Gordon Stork, Matt Stork, Jr., Kenneth Stork and Henry Stork. Honorary casket bearers will be sons-in-law: Larry Davis, Fred Lappe, Robert Benedict, Patrick Gross, Lynn Eickman and Ron Hackerson. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary will form an honor guard.

Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery at Breda.

Visitation starts at 2:30 and the CDA will lead a rosary at 3 Wednesday afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Lawrence Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

A daughter of Joseph T. and Ida (Boes) Grabner, she was born Sept. 8, 1920, at Breda, attended rural school near Breda, graduated from St. Bernard High School at Breda and earned a teacher's certificate from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

She and Matt H. Stork were married Aug. 25, 1942, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda.

The Storks resided in Breda until moving to Carroll in 1967.

Mrs. Stork was an Avon representative a few years. From 1965 until retirement in 1982 she taught at St. Lawrence School in Carroll.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Ladies Guild and St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, and member and past regent of the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She volunteered at the Carroll County Historical Museum, election polls, Life Line and Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, playing bridge and baby sitting for her family.

Survivors include 17 children: Alan Stork and wife LuJean of Carroll, Robert Stork and wife Mary Lou of Lake View, Donald Stork and wife Marsha of Breda, Phyllis Davis and husband Larry of Johnston, Thomas Stork and wife Mary Jean of Carroll, William Stork and wife Pat of Lidderdale, Ruth Lappe and husband Fred of Auburn, Susan Benedict and husband Robert of Highland, Calif., Patricia Stork and special friend Leo Lindner Jr. of Deloit, Gordon Stork and wife Carol of Clive, Margaret Gross and husband Patrick of Council Bluffs, Mary Eickman and husband Lynn of Littleton, Colo., Matt Stork Jr. and wife Teri of Lake City, Michele Stork and special friend Frank Gregorsky of Vienna, Va., Kenneth Stork and wife Michele of Breda, Sandra Hackerson and husband Ron of Ames and Henry Stork and wife Amy of Altus, Okla.; 49 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stork was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Matt, in July 1976; a grandson, Chris Lappe; a brother, Joseph Grabner; and two sisters: Irene Hobart and Myrtle Boes.
