Peter Edward Mueggenborg 1917-2004

Peter Mueggenborg, 76, long-time Kingfisher farmer and stockman, died Thursday, June 16, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid.

A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. James Ross and Rev. Don Wolf officiating. Burial will be in the Kingfisher cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home of El Reno.

He was born July 1, 1917, at Okarche to Henry and Dora Boes Mueggenborg. He was reared at Okarche, and had lived in Kingfisher for 47 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He retired in 1980.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the American Legion.

He married Eleanora Steffes on April 18, 1944, at Carroll, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Gary, Mark, Phillip, all of Kingfisher, and Edward of Watonga; two daughters, Corrine Mueggenborg of Amado, Ariz., and Maggie Linstrom of North Billerica, Mass.; two brothers, Paul, his twin, of Stillwater, and Tony of Yale; 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
