A funeral service for Raymond B. Boes of Wall Lake
will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, 1998, at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Wall Lake.
Mr. Boes, 77, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Mercy
Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Burial with military honor by Bruening American Legion
Post No. 607 of Breda will be in Wall Lake Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 10, 1921, at Breda, a son of Theodore
and Anna (Schulte) Boes.
Mr. Boes served in the Army at Australia, Japan and
the Philippines.
He and Margaret Dunn were married Feb. 28, 1949, at
St. Joseph Church in Wall Lake. They farmed in the Breda area for
10 years then bought the McLaughlin family farm in 1958.
Mr. Boes was a lay minister, usher and CCD teacher
and rosary leader with St. Joseph Church in Wall Lake. He was also
a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Bruening American
Legion Post No. 607 of Breda.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of Wall Lake;
three daughters: Mary Boes of Waterloo, Jeanne Hormick and her husband
Denny, of Bayard and Anne Riesberg and her husband, Jim, of Carroll;
four grandchildren; two brothers, Albert, Boes and his wife, Hendriena,
of Breda and Earl Boes and his wife, Alice, of Breda; two sisters:
Mathilda Thelen and Rose Ludwig, both of Carroll; and three sisters-in-law:
Florence Boes and Marguerite Dunn, both of Carroll, and Wilma Boes
of Breda.
Mr. Boes was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, Clem, Tony, Clarence and Edmond Boes; and a sister, Philomena
Thelen.
