Mass of the Christian burial for Robert Hausman was
celebrated at 1:30 p.m. today, July 16, at Holy Spirit Church in
Carroll. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Mr. Hausman, 63, died in a lawn-mowing accident at
his home in Carroll on Friday, July 13, 1990.
Fathers Marvin Hood and Cleo Seuntjens were concelebrants.
Lectors were Sister Barbara Ann Hausman and Don Stangl. Mass servers
were Ryan and Ross Pudenz. Cross bearer was Christy Keller. Gift
bearers were his grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Clarence Eischeid, Elmer Dalhoff,
Donald Riesberg, Leonard Riesselman, Harold Riesberg and Craig Riesenberg.
Born Sept. 28, 1926 in Halbur, Mr. Hausman was a son
of Christ and Anna (Schenkelberg) Hausman. He attended St. Augustine
Grade School in Halbur and Carroll High School.
On Nov. 17, 1947, he married to Elsie Thelen at St.
Bernard Church in Breda by Father Schleyer.
Mr. Hausman was formerly a farmer and was most recently
a self-employed painter. Formerly of Halbur, he had lived in Carroll
for nine months.
Mr. Hausman is survived by his wife, Elsie, of Carroll;
his children Gary and his wife Dorothy, of Athens, Ga., Dan and
his wife, Colleen, of Simi Valley, Calif., Vicki and her husband,
Dan Keller, of Carroll, Randy and his wife, Raylene, of Lake City,
and Keith Hausman of Ames; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Sister Barbara
Ann Hausman of Carroll, Irene Vasos of Carroll, Helen Flogerzi of
Lakewood, Calif., and Kathy Dieter of Redondo Beach, Calif.; brothers,
Harold of Onawa and Louis of Halbur; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Melvin
Hausman of Carroll; and his mother-in-law, Philomena Thelen of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Lucille Wyman; and a brother, Melvin Hausman.
