The Breda News, February 18, 2004 Rosalie M. Schettler, age 43, of Breda, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll of complications of cancer. Mass of the Christian burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004, at St. Bernard Church in Breda. The celebrant was Father James Smith. Lectors were Bill and Darrell Schettler. Gift bearers were Joe and Jenny Grabner. Mass servers were Brent Halbur and Jim and John Grabner. Eucharistic minister was John Wittry. The Breda E.M.T's formed an honor guard at the church for the funeral mass. Casket bearers were Kurt Wolff, Rick Wolff, Shawn Severson, Jay Rewerts, Lance Rewerts and Kevin Wittry. Burial was at St. Bernard Cemetery in Breda. Friends called at the St. Bernard Gymnasium in Breda after 2:30 Friday. A rosary was recited at 3 p.m. Friday by the St. Bernard Ladies Guild. There was a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friday by the parish. The Sharp Funeral Home of Breda was in charge of funeral arrangements. Mrs. Schettler was born on December 17, 1960, at Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Wolff) Niehaus. Her family moved to Storm Lake where she graduated from St. Mary High School in 1978. She was then employed at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Newell. She was married to Robert Schettler on June 10, 1983, at St. Mary Church in Storm Lake. The couple made their home in Breda where she assisted her husband in the operation of Schettler Studio's for 10 years. In 1990 she became employed by Computer Transportation Services Company in Breda. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish, Parish Choir, and Parish Ladies Guild. She was also a Board Member and Past President of the Breda Day Care Center. Mrs. Schettler enjoyed her family, reading and music. She is survived by her husband, Robert Schettler of Breda, children Megan, Lydia, Julia and Evan Schettler of Breda; her mother, Mary Niehaus of Breda, brothers, Greg Niehaus of Early, Chris Niehaus and his wife, Diana, of Schaller, Dave Niehaus of Newell and Steve Niehaus and his wife, Barb, of Fonda; grandfather, Leo Wolff of Storm Lake and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Jeff Niehaus; and grandparents, Betty Wolff and Louis and Marie Niehaus.
