The Kingfisher Times & Free Press, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, July 5, 2013 Stanley Emil Forman, 91 years old, was a lifetime resident of Kingfisher. He quietly passed away July 2, 2013, in Kingfisher at the Cimarron Nursing Home. He was born at the family farm near Cashion, Okla., on the 3rd of November of 1921, and was the son of Rudolph and Faye Forman of Kingfisher. Stanley married the love of his life, Rita Wittrock, on May 15, 1947 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher. This May would have marked their 66th Anniversary and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Elks Lodge in Kingfisher. Stanley and Rita loved to dance and were masters of the dance floor and some of us think their Polka dancing would have placed them as hands down winners of “Dancing with the Stars.” We imagine they are once again dancing together. Prior to her death and much to Mother’s delight, Stanley joined the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher, and a few weeks before his death received his last rites. Stanley was a Farmer/Rancher in the Kingfisher County area all his life. At 16 he somehow joined the local 45th Army Guard unit with several of his underage friends, and served in active duty during WWII and was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps with the rank of master sergeant. He was a life member of the local VFW and American Legion. He attained his private pilot’s license after leaving the Army Air Corps, and enjoyed and loved sharing his love of flying for many years. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter enjoying those activities with family and friends. Stanley gladly served the state of Oklahoma and his local community in many capacities. For several years he served at the state capitol as the senate sergeant of arms, and was appointed to the Governor’s Oklahoma Advisory Board. He then committed much of his public service time and energy to the Cashion Public Schools serving many years on the Cashion School Board. While on the board, his leadership and vision contributed to the Cashion community building, a state of the art facility for the Cashion Schools. He was an active and life member of the Cashion Masonic Lodge serving in all capacities, and attained his 32nd Masonic Degree in Guthrie. He was an active member of several local organizations including the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, Kingfisher Rotary Club and Kingfisher Elks Lodge. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rita. Survivors include: son, Stephen Rudolph and wife Lou Ann of Kingfisher; son, Alan Joseph and wife Susan of Tulsa; daughter, Charlotte Lynn and fiance Casey Vinson of Yukon, and son, Jeffrey Scott and wife Marette of Kingfisher. Grandchildren include, Stephen James, William Corby, Eric Nelson, Samuel Allen, Jason, Amanda, Blaire, Brittni, Madison, Landon, Carter and Madeline. Great-grandchildren include, Hannah, Morgan, Camryn, Mia and Jake. Stanley Forman will certainly be remembered by his family and friends, and those who knew him well will likely remember him for his humor, wit, strong character, work values and perseverance. He left this belief system imbedded with his children and family ensuring it to live on through them. Slowing down later in life Stanley began showing more of his soft side as he humbly and privately gave of himself sharing to help others have a better life. He enjoyed sharing his fond memories with family and friends telling his favorite special stories and memories. Stanley spent his last 14 years living in the Cimarron Nursing Home due to a massive stroke suffered a few days after his successful quadruple heart bypass surgery. He lost his ability to walk, but never gave up on his life with his family, friends or his beloved farm. It was a long journey for such a strong and active farmer/rancher/pilot, but Stanley showed “true grit” living the life he was dealt. He touched many lives during this time in untold ways and many were forever enriched and are now saddened by his departure from this earth yet joyful he is now in heaven with his beloved Rita and other departed family and friends. The family would like to thank Cimarron Nursing home and the many employees who provided the loving care for our father over these past 14 years. At the end our family was so blessed with their compassion and sharing how Stanley enriched their lives during his life there. We thank them for all of the assistance, care and love shown to or father. Additional thanks to Harbor Light Hospice for providing the loving end of life assistance and care for our father and family members. Quote for our Dad: There is a reason, a season and a lifetime and Dad lived them all! He was our “John Wayne” Dad, and he did it his way and for that we will be forever grateful and blessed. Funeral arrangements are set for 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher followed by gravesite services and military honors at the Cashion Cemetery. Viewing will be in Kingfisher at the Sanders Funeral home on Saturday, July 6th, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 7th, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
