Wilbur P. "Web" Wolterman, 85, of Carroll
died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home following a long illness.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday,
Dec. 3, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev.
James McCormick presiding. Lector will be Bert Madden. Gift bearers
will be Samantha Madden, Sean Culligan, Maria Wolterman and Amanda
Culligan. Pianist will be Daniel Loeschen. Eucharistic ministers
will be Bert Jr. and Beverly Madden.
Casket bearers will be Daniel Loeschen, Tom Wolterman,
Brian Wolterman, Jeremy Mason, Bert Madden IV, Shaun Haulk and Danny
Fry Jr. Honorary casket bearers will be Ashley Fulten, Christina
Haulk, Michael Wolterman, Elizabeth Loeschen, Jason Fry, Megan Wolterman,
Sarah Culligan, Michael Wolterman, Courtney Wolterman, Zachary Wolterman,
Cheesy Wolterman, Chad Fry, Ryan Fry, Cole Fry and Tami Mason.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
A son of A.J. and Elizabeth (Schulte) Wolterman, he
was born Oct. 2, 1919, at Breda, spent his younger years there and
attended St. Bernard School.
He and Helen Becker were married April 20, 1948, at
St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda. The couple farmed in the Breda
area until 1953, when they moved to Carroll.
Mr. Wolterman was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and
enjoyed fishing, gardening and growing tomato plants.
Survivors include 11 children and their spouses: Marge
Wolterman of Carroll, James Wolterman of Glidden, Dale "Wally"
and Tina Wolterman of Carroll, Gary and Lisa Wolterman of Lake City,
Debra and David Loeschen of Denison, Cindi and Kevin Cregeen of
Creston, John and Dee Wolterman of Carroll, Pat and Bert Madden
of Carroll, Linda and Mike Culligan of Carroll, Larry and Marilou
Wolterman of Eielson Air Force Bas4e, Ala., and Mike Wolterman of
Coon Rapids; 26 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters
and their husbands: Mildred and Jesse McCoy of Fonda, Bernice and
Melvin Steinkamp of Arcadia and Darlene and Roger Koster of Elkader;
four sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
Mr. Wolterman was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Helen in May 2004; two grandsons; Jerry and Christopher
Wolterman; a son-in-law, Danny Fry; six brothers: Lester, Herold,
Elmer, Richard, Raphael and Joe Wolterman; and two sisters, Marita
Neppl and Elsie Koster.
