William Delmage Dunham 1913-2005

William Delmage Dunham, 91, of Pleasant Hill, formerly
of Georgetown, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005.
He was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Gracemont, Okla., a
son of Andrew Herman and Anna Mae Bullock Dunham. On Oct. 12, 1940,
in Culver City, Calif., he was married to Lorine Catherine Hoebing,
who died April 30, 2004.
Mr. Dunham was raised and educated in Calumet, Okla.
He served in the infantry of the Oklahoma National Guard. He attended
the Santa Monica Technical College and Boyle School of Aeronautics.
He was employed at Douglas Aircraft Corp. in Culver City, Calif.
and Tulsa, Okla. He later was a carman for the Missouri Pacific
Railroad in Sedalia. He also farmed throughout his life. He was
a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus in Sedalia.
He was a contributing writer for Full Cry magazine.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jane Briggs, of
Liberty, and Arlene Ann Hansen, of Kansas City; four sons, Ronald
Joseph Dunham, of Kansas City, Kan., William John Dunham, of Pleasant
Hill, Darrell Thomas Dunham, of Seattle, and Mark Charles Dunham,
of Kansas City; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Dunham
and Preston Dunham; and two sisters, Helen Whitener and Madaline
Manser.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Vincent Hoying officiating. Pallbearers
will be grandsons Mike Wilson, Dan Wilson, Doug Wilson, Chris Wilson,
Jeff Wilson, Scott Wilson, Alan Dunham and Josh Dunham. Burial will
be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 2591. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30
a.m. Saturday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
