William Willey 1959-2005 The Carroll Daily Times Herald, September 20, 2005 Glidden, Iowa—Mass of the Christian Burial for Bill "Wild Bill" Willey of Glidden will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden. Mr. Willey, 46, died Saturday, Sept. 17 2005, of injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash near Exira. The Rev. Joe Dillinger will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Gary Schon. Gift bearers will be Mary, Peggy and Carla Nieland. Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery at Glidden. Casket bearers will be Jeff Soyer, Kenny Ware, Tony Vanderheiden, Bill Vaughn, Doug "Brew" Brauckman, Scott Halligan, David Macke, Rick Bruning and Darnell Schwering. Honorary casket bearers will be the brothers of the Sons of Silence, Carroll Cycle Center and Midwest Homes. Visitation starts at 2:30 p.m. and a rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. St. Elizabeth Seton Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home. A son of Donald and Betty (Truhe) Willey, he was born May 31, 1959, at Carroll and was a lifelong resident of Glidden. He graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School in 1977. He and Renee Nieland were married May 26, 1984, at Glidden City Park. Mr. Willey began working at Boomsma's egg plant in Glidden at age 14 and stayed 18 years. He then worked for Midwest Homes, Elite Pork, Midwest Wholesale and Agri Associates. He enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, spending time with his family, his dog Buddy, bow hunting, riding his bike and dancing in his cowboy boots. Survivors include his wife, Renee, of Glidden; two children, both at home: Christina Willey and her special friend, Eric Heisterkamp, and Timothy J. Willey and his special friend, Brooke Roetman; his mother, Betty Willey, of Glidden; his father, Donald Willey, and his special friend, Oleva Kennebeck, of Glidden; his grandmother, Ruby Willey, of Seymore, Missouri; his grandmother, Viola Truhe, of Carroll; two stepdaughters: Wendy Olberding and her fiancé, Neil Vonnahme, of Arcadia and April Sesker and her husband, Nick, of Harcourt; a granddaughter, Trinity Vonnahme; his father-in-law, Virgil Nieland, of Ralston; three brothers-in-law: Ronnie Nieland and his wife, Mary, of Willey, Roger Nieland and his wife, Peggy, of St. Paul, Minn., and Rick Nieland and his wife, Carla, of Garrett, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mr. Willey was preceded in death by his grandparents: Norbert Truhe, Earl Willey, and Julius and Emma Nieland; a brother, Tim Willey; his mother-in-law, Sharon Nieland; and a good friend, Robert "Bob" Frazier.
