Wilmer Peter O'Tool 1914-1959

Requiem mass for Wilmer OTool, 45, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at St. Joseph Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. T. Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Friends may call at 'the Sharp Funeral Home after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 p.m. Friday, led by Msgr. Lynch.

Mr. O’ Tool was killed at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday 2 1/2 miles northwest of Casey, where he was employed by Grady Construction Co. A road machine he was driving overturned on him on a county road corner. Deputies said that the machine apparently went out of control as Mr. O’ Tool turned the corner. He had just started to work for the company and was helping move its equipment from a project five miles west of Guthrie Center to a bridge job near Casey. His son Arlen, who was employed with him, expects to return to work next week.

Mr. O'Tool was born at Breda Oct. 2, 1914, a son of Peter and Barbara O' Tool. His marriage to Rosina Reising took place June 28, 1938, at St. Bernard's Church, Breda, with Mrs. O' Tool's brother, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Zeno Reising, officiating at the ceremony. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. O' Tool lived a mile east and miles north of Breda, where they farmed for a year and a half. From there they moved to a farm seven miles east of Breda, where they resided for 14 years. .They moved to Carroll in 1953 and have made their home here since that time. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

Survivors include his wife Rosina; the following children: Arlen, Richard, Marvajean, Clara, Joseph, Jeanette, Daryl, Mary Agnes, Ralph, Stanley, Betty Lou, Barbara, Frank, Jane Ann and Jimmy; his mother, Mrs. Barbara O 'Tool, Carroll; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Clara Reising, Breda; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Clarence (Elvera) Tiefenthaler, Breda; Ivan O'Tool, Ida Grove; Mrs. Lawrence (Marcille) Engel, Carnarvon; Mrs. William (Iola) Muhlbauer, Manning; and Mrs. Jim (Rose Marie) McAllister, Bayard.

Preceding him in death were his father, who died in May, 1954, and a brother Marvin in 1935.
