PAPPE, BAKER, DIES SUDDENLY AT HIS HOME
Had Resided in Albuquerque over 20 Years; Heart Disease Said to Have Been Cause of Death
Carl A. Pappe, prominent baker, died suddenly Thursday in his home at 3000 North Fourth street. A heart attack is believed to have been the cause.
When he failed to appear in the afternoon at his bakery, 320 West Central avenue, his wife sent a boy to the home to see what was wrong. The body was found on the floor of the kitchen, face down and fully clothed. Neighbors summoned the family physician and the fire department inhaler, but the inhaler was not used when the doctor said Mr. Pappe had been dead several hours.
The baker had been suffering from heart disease for about a year, according to the physician. He had gone home early Thursday morning, after a night’s work.
Mr. Pappe was 48 years old, and is survived by the widow and a baby boy, Carl Jr., born last September. His first wife, Mrs. Anna Pappe, lives at 1834 North Fourth street.
Mr. Pappe had resided here for over 20 (?) years. Before opening a bakery business for himself, he was baker for the Jaffa grocers. During the World war, he was appointed state administrator for bakeries by the national food administration.
No inquest will be necessary it was said. Funeral arrangements are being made by McKerney mortuary.
