Henrietta Mathilda Louise (Kornrumpf) Pappe 1861 - 1941

Mrs. R. Pappe Sr. Pioneer Here Dies

Henrietta Mathilde Louise Kornrumpf was born in Hannover, Germany, June 25, 1861, and died in Wesley hospital, Oklahoma City, on July 11, 1941, at the age of 80 years and 16 days.

She came to America in May, 1882, and was married to Richard Pappe in Pekin, Ill., July 20, 1882.

At the opening of Oklahoma, in 1889, they filed on a homestead east of Kingfisher, which she still owned at the time of her death. They were engaged in various businesses.

To them were born 11 children, four of whom are living. Five died in infancy, a daughter passed away at the age of nine, and a son, Albert, died at the age of 26. Her husband preceded her in death on April 12, 1919.

All her life she was a member of the Evangelical church.

Survivors include: three sons, Richard, Arthur and Court; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Jersak, all of Kingfisher; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at the home on North Eighth street, and at the Evangelical church at 3 o'clock. Rev. Ernest F. Nolte, pastor of the church, officiated. The remains were laid to rest in the Kingfisher cemetery.

Final rites were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Richard Pappe, Sr., pioneer Kingfisher resident, who passed away Friday in an Oklahoma City Hospital. A short service was held at 2:45 p.m. at the home on North Eighth street and at 3 p.m. at the Evangelical church, with Rev. Ernest F. Nolte, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Kingfisher cemetery. Bracken funeral home in charge.

Mrs. Pappe, who was 80 years old at the time of her death, came from Germany to America in 1882, in which year she was married to Mr. Pappe in Pekin, Ill. They filed on a homestead east of Kingfisher in 1889 at the opening of Oklahoma.

Eleven children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Pappe, four of whom survive, namely, Richard, Arthur, Court and Mrs. Louise Jersak, all of Kingfisher; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Pappe died in 1919.
