Cecilia Angela Nieland (1906 - 1972)
Sister Mary Anthusa, FSPA

Cecelia Nieland was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Naberhaus) Nieland and granddaughter of Henry and Anna (Berning) Nieland. She as born March 10, 1906, at Breda, Iowa. She entered the convent in June, 1925 at the age of 19. She made her final profession of faith on June 17, 1935, taking the religious name, Sister Mary Anthusa. She dedicated her life to the teaching profession, teaching at St. Angela Academy in Carroll for a number of years, as well as many other points in Iowa and Wisconsin.
